I only recently got back into MC Development so I am not the most up-to-date on best practices but can learn and adapt on the fly. I do hold a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, so if you do decide to look into my Repo for the Dev position that would be appreciated.

5. How would you handle a toxic or rule-breaking player?

 I always gather proof first using chat logs or moderation tools. For minor toxicity, I issue a polite but firm warning to try and cool things down. If they ignore it, or if it’s a severe offense like hacking or griefing, I apply the appropriate mute or ban, log the evidence, and let the rest of the staff know. I never argue with players in chat.

6. How would you help a confused or new player?

 I'd welcome them and walk them through things step-by-step. Instead of just telling them to "read the wiki," I prefer to answer their specific questions about commands or mechanics so they actually understand and feel comfortable getting started.

7. Why do you want to become a Helper for Astral MC?

 I really enjoy multiplayer servers and want to help build a positive community here. I know what makes a server fun to play on, and I want to make sure players get their questions answered quickly and feel supported so they keep coming back. I am a moderately experienced Skyblock player from Hypixel, so a lot of the lingo/gameplay loop is similar in this server's situation. 

8. What timezone are you in?

 I live in Montana, so I am Mountain Time (MDT) 

9. Are you able to stay calm and professional during difficult situations?

 Yes. I have experience moderating other active communities, so I'm used to dealing with stressful situations and angry players. I know better than to take things personally or get dragged into arguments. I just stay calm and stick to the rules. I own and run my own discord server with my own custom coded Python Bot, so I am well aware of the requirements when it comes to moderating a decently sized server. Currently sitting at 503 Members with 100-110 members online at any given time. 

10. Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?

I’m 24 and have a computer science degree. I also develop custom Discord bots and write Java plugins for Minecraft servers in my free time. Because I know the backend technical side, I’m pretty good at spotting bugs, helping players with weird glitches, and writing detailed, useful bug reports for the dev team. Noting again that I have been out of the MC Dev scene for a while during college & lifestyle changes but am willing to learn again and pick it back up.
